FAQ

  • How do I become a stockist of Thrive by Nature tea?
We only have a limited amount of stockist partnerships available. At TBN we are all about quality and not quantity. We are very proud of our small, unique portfolio of stockists and pride ourselves on aligning with businesses that share similar philosophies. We are about ‘the real deal’, the businesses that really walk the talk. We understand that brand affiliations reflect on your business and vision whether directly or indirectly, which is why we so carefully select our stockists to ensure ‘beyond the box’ brand and vision compatibility. So you can be proud to be affiliated with our portfolio of stockists. If you think you might be a good fit, please fill out our Wholesale Application Form.

  • What do you mean ‘beyond the box’?
Health, quality and sustainability are our major core values and although these values are becoming more desirable mainstream, they are also being undermined by what is trending. Too often we are seeing businesses claiming all sorts but not really walking the talk or perhaps stocking brands that completely disregard their respective visions. At TBN we believe in fluidity. We look at other brands you might stock, see your practices and learn more about you and your business, personally.  Think of this as a kind of ‘tick of approval’, that you do not need to pay for… but cannot be paid for either.

  • Gees your application sounds so picky, why?
Because we choose to be. Our world has never been more confusing. Brands send powerful messages of influence, and when it comes to people’s health and the planet we believe businesses have a responsibility to be what they say, not market what they ought to be. We understand our philosophy is strict and not for everyone and that is our point. The businesses that really align with us will get it.

  • Why loose leaf tea?
There are several differences between loose leaf tea and traditional tea bags. The leaves used in most bags are actually the "dust and fanning’s" from broken tea leaves, which are considered the lowest grade of tea and in essence, the waste product of whole leaf tea. Loose leaf tea is the whole picked leaf, which has been delicately dried to retain their important essential oils, antioxidants, therapeutic properties, taste and aroma. Our chai ingredients are also bought whole and crushed gently to a chunky appearance so that many of the spices, flavours and properties of the tea are protected and long-preserved.

  • Will Thrive by Nature ever introduce tea bags?
No. Firstly, many mass produced tea bags are bleached, full of plastics and laden with chemical pesticides. But this is a whole discussion in itself. Secondly, the teabag market represents an important source of pollution: the packaging of tea into the tea bags, which are individually wrapped using paper, carton and a plastic blister – not to mention the energy and resources used to create them. In our humble opinion, the environmental impact of teabags far outweighs any convenience benefit. Even the production of biodegradable and compostable pyramid tea bags are a waste issue and unnecessarily increasing our footprint by creating more single use products. This is a classic ‘green washing’ manoeuvre, just because it may be more eco-friendly, it does not mean that it is a great long-term and viable alternative. Many people also do not know that biodegradable status is only relevant if that product is given the suitable conditions to biodegrade. Otherwise, certain ‘biodegradable’ products can and may still be around for many, many years. Most pyramid tea bags also contain heat-resistant polypropylene, which is not biodegradable – and yes these even exist in the most ‘green’ tea bags, and we have not found a legit alternative. Thirdly, we have not come across a facility that can print tea labels with soy based inks and waterless-based printing technology like the rest of our packaging, which is the safest form of offset printing that does not use toxic chemicals or generate industrial waste water.  Lastly, we believe loose leaf is the best and most eco-friendly option. Surprisingly, loose leaf tea could be more economical than tea bags too as they can be brewed more than once. BUT okay, we did somewhat give in and we do have an alternative for tea on the go. Check out our organic, reusable linen tea bags here.

  • Are your teas organic?
Yes. We only source Certified Organic herbs and spices. This is our priority. Did you know that tea along with coffee are among the most highly sprayed crops in the world? What’s more, the first rinse these herbs get are usually in your tea cup. So yes, we do not and will never supply non-organic teas.

  • Are your teas safe for everyone to consume?
At TBN we use commonly known, studied and verified herbs for their unique purposes so that we can make our teas as accessible as possible to anyone who wishes to enjoy their benefits. However if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a known medical condition we do recommend you speak with your healthcare provider before consuming Thrive by Nature teas.

  • How long will it take to receive my order?
We make all of our tea to order. Truly small batch, honest tea making. Please allow 2-5 business days to receive your order.
